What Android settings should I set for optimized 3CX app operation on a Samsung device?

For Android 11 (S20, S20+):

  • Set detailed notifications:

    • Set ‘Settings’ > ‘Notifications’ > ‘Notification pop-up style’ = [Detailed]

      • * If this setting is not applied users need to tap on the incoming call notification while the device is in unlocked state, to be able to answer/decline the call.

    • Set ‘Settings’ > ‘Notifications’ > ‘Brief pop-up settings’ > ‘Show even while screen is off’ = [enabled]

  • Lock the app in recently used apps: (a) Open the 3CX app, then tap to open recent apps (3-vertical-line button for Samsung). (b) Long-tap the 3CX app icon on top of app preview until the menu appears. (c) Select ‘Keep open’ to keep the app active for notifications.

  • Optional - Set the app to never sleep: ‘Settings’ > ‘Battery and device care’ > ‘Battery’ > ‘Bagkground usage limits’ > ‘Never sleeping apps’: Select and Add 3CX app.

For Android 10 (S10, S10+, A39, A40):

  • Disable power optimization: In ‘App info’ > ‘Battery’ > ‘Optimize battery usage’ > Disable any optimization (app must be included in 'Apps not optimized').
